September is National Recovery Month

Christian

My son, Christian age 21, is in his 5th month of recovery. His drug use began in his early teens and escalated as he grew older. In 2014, I jokingly asked if he was smoking crack because all my spoons were missing. I had no idea the nightmare that was about to unfold. Most are shocked when I say that I am proud of my son. After learning about addiction and recovery; I know his battle is hard fought every day. His battle will be daily for the rest of his life. But this recovery he has reached out to God for strength. Christian, we are so very proud of you. We love you with all our hearts.

My name is Caitlin Propheter. This is my story.

I suffered from depression for many years before I told my mom. I started to self-harm and developed an eating disorder.

I stole, I lied, and I manipulated people who loved me. My mom said she planned my funeral every day on her way to work. My dad disowned me.
